Airport Master Plan & FAR Part 150 Analysis

Client
Jackson International Airport

GCR completed a Master Plan and Part 150 noise analysis for the Jackson International Airport.

This plan examined all facets of the facility, and recommended numerous actions to meet future demand, including the development of a new terminal complex to replace the one originally constructed in 1963. Additionally, the plan recommended additional cargo facility development, new and relocated rental car facilities, additional patron parking facilities, new airport access infrastructure, and a new remote parking/intermodal passenger transfer center, to name a few.

In addition to the master plan, GCR performed a full Part 150 analysis of the Jackson International Airport. This Part 150 Program examined existing noise exposure as well as future impacts, based on changes in fleet mix and potential airfield configuration changes. Significant factors which have affected the future contours include the advent of regional jets and the replacement of C141 military cargo transport aircraft with C17 aircraft at the Mississippi Air National Guard base (co-located at the airport). Following completion of the Noise Exposure Map (NEM) document, GCR also developed a Noise Compatibility Program (NCP) document which provided guidance about community and land use planning around the airport to ensure that future non-compatible land uses do not encroach on the airport.
