CASE STUDY
Integrated Airport Management System
Client
Tucson Airport Authority
The Tucson Airport Authority awarded a contract to GCR to implement a comprehensive Integrated Airport Management System (IAMS) to manage the Tucson International Airport and its general aviation reliever Ryan Airfield.
As a major component, the GCR team implemented a complete set of the Oracle e-business suite of financial systems. The level of integration which was accomplished between the GCR and Oracle suites are unparalleled, and provides the airport with a truly comprehensive, single point-of-entry airport management solution.
At its core, the system is driven by GCR's Airport Business Manager (ABM), which is used to manage all contracts and agreements at the airport. The agreement information feeds ABM's tenant billing, airport and airline activity statistics, and accounts receivables modules. GCR's AirportIQ Data Center provides both real-time flight tracking for the airports, as well as reporting of airline activities (such as landings) into the tenant billing module.
GCR's Property Management module, which includes integrated GIS mapping capabilities, interfaces with tenant information to provide the TAA with a holistic view of tenant activities, properties, and facilities.
GCR's Airport Project Manager (APM) has also been implemented for management of TAA's capital facilities program. The APM system provides comprehensive tools for managing the capital program, from initial CIP planning, cash flow analysis, preparation of FAA and PFC forms, to the management of contracts and payment of invoices.
The GCR team also implemented other Oracle modules, including:
- General Ledger
- Job & Project Cost Accounting
- Capital & Operating Budget
- Payroll & Human Resources
- Accounts Payable
- Requisitions & Purchasing
- Fixed Assets
- Inventory Control & Warehousing
- Work Order & Preventative Maintenance

In addition, GCR is implementing the Sympro Portfolio Management system to help manage TAA's investments and portfolios. GCR will also provide a solution to manage TAA's unique FBO services, including fuel distribution and point-of-sale functions.
Finally, GCR's Rates & Charges Module is then integrated with the Oracle General Ledger and the ABM modules to generate dynamic rates and charges calculations. This module is also used to create "what-if" scenarios to determine what the impact to the rate base would be from various rate change or developmental alternatives.
